Fierce & Funky Stripes

Since a lot of people expressed their love of stripes after my post on Monday, I decided to expand on it since stripes are so big this season. Just like animal prints, stripes come in many forms: there is the very classic black and white stripe that makes me think of an old black and white film set in Paris; there's the classic sailor/nautical stripe, which usually involves blue and white; we've also seen the phase of stripe colored rugby shirts (green or red and navy). This season, there's still the appreciation for the classics, but I've seen a new breed pop up- which I've dubbed the Fierce & Funky Stripe. The F&F Stripe is best explained through pictures... and potential objects of possession, so please, step into my office.

The Fierce & Funky Stripe has sex appeal (obviously, otherwise I wouldn't be writing about it)- it's a more form-fitting fabric with some attitude. Just look at the models, they are all like, "Bitch please, take a photo it would last longer!"

The F&F Stripe is also about creating a clever optical illusion around the natural waist. I talked in my last post about how horizontal stripes can make even a skinny woman look like "wide load", but angling stripes or combining horizontal with vertical can create a very slimming effect that works on everyone. This first one by BCBGeneration is my absolute FAVORITE, because I think it would look awesome with a really colorful pair of heels or big colorful jewelry.
