The fashionable scarf, which deviates from the classic wool or cashmere winter accessory, is nothing new. First there was the pashmina, which every city street corner kiosk sold, for "five dolla". Then a few years ago, the material became more lightweight, and even acceptable to rock in warmer climates, or to craftily hide a double chin (you know who you are). I love the look since it makes any simple outfit pop, so I'm a huge fan when GIRLS decide to wear them.
However, I never really expected men to start picking up on the trend. I mean, I know that men's fashion isn't as diverse as women's, but really guys? You couldn't just leave this one alone? My personal opinion is that a classic wool or cashmere scarf looks great on guys, but anything else looks ridiculous, even on David Beckham (sorry becks), and makes me question is he shaves his legs to match with that scarf. If this and the fact that Chris Brown wears a fashion scarf isn't reason enough to hate it (unless you are gay- then you flaunt that scarf), then I don't know what else is. But of course, since Kanye thinks he is invincible to my commentary (ridiculous, right?), not only has he decided to start rocking the male scarf, but now he's going to be involved in their production (Kanye's Album Art to be transformed in to silk scarves). There are just certain moments when art, fashion, and Kanye should never be combined. I wouldn't be surprised if his next rap went something like this, "She got an ass that can swallow up a G string, but that aint nothing on the male scarf I pair with my fancy earrings." Yes, I know, it's only a matter of time before they request my song writing talent to bring in the cash money.

There's a mix but I've really been digging the funky patterns (abstract, floral, and combined fabrics) and bright colors to get it poppin.
