I've always had visions of walking into some "vintage" or second hand store and walking out with something awesome, but more often than not, the weird stench of fashion leftovers leaves you feeling disappointed and in need of a shower. The only decent second hand stores end up being super expensive designer items that someone rightfully regretted purchasing because they are over priced and fugly. But every once in awhile the universe throws you a bone- for me, it was a fabulous vintage store experience in none other than the STL. With a little inspiration from the America's Next Top Model Season 6 "Krumping" episode (please tell me you remember "Where there is a runway JADE WILL BE ON IT") my friend and I set out to make our own urban krumping photo shoot. Hunting for some prime krumping attire is no easy feat. (FYI krumping= 'street dance popularized in the US that is characterized by free, expressive, exaggerated, and highly energetic movement involving the arms, head, legs, chest, and feet... it was a way to escape "release anger, aggression positively) And since I have a lot of aggression I needed to ensure that I krumped all over STL in style... of course the only way to krump in style, is in aggressive neon shoes from the 80s, and thank god, the STL provided just that.
