Hammer Time

So enough about dresses, what's a girl supposed to wear in the instance that she may decide she doesn't feel like shaving her legs every day or when all her floral or animal print dresses are in the dirty laundry basket? Well apparently this season you have three options: pleated pseudo MC hammer pants, rolled tight ankle chic cargos, or seventies bell bottoms. Yeah, I know, first floral, and now MC hammer pants? I guess the complete 90's transformation would be nothing without the revival of the MC hammer pant- and a part of me respects the fashion industry's sense of humor and the bold attempt to take something so ridiculous and turn it into something fashionable. Click below for an awesome walk down memory lane

Once again, RiRi could not resist the temptation to jump on this bandwagon- I admit I respect her attempt to pull it off, but most importantly, I think she points out the three major things to avoid with these pants.

1. make sure they button, and stay buttoned with all that MC hammer dancing you're bound to be doing

2. Crop tops are never appropriate- I don't care what kind of abs of steal you have hidden underneath, they are just awkward

3. Lastly, preferably purchase a pair of pants that don't make you look like your wearing a diaper, you know, in case you might actually want to look appealing to anyone of the opposite sex

Tibi put out what I would consider a wearable versions that is more streamlined- note that the model is wearing these pants with a FULL LENGTH shirt. I think madewell and urban outfitters have come up with some cheaper, but still cute, alternatives.

  1. I think those pants should stay in South America, where they belong and not dare cross the equator. They are bad suit pants from the 80s...Dolly Parton in Working 9-5 style. Not pretty. xoxo
